In response to your question, “What are the women like?” I tell you––the only woman I talk to is my 50-year-old boss to whom I am an assistant, who, every morning before we walk into class together to teach english, says, and I quote directly, “No tengo ganas; No quiero; No vale. What’s the point? These students don’t learn no matter how hard I work. They’re all retarded [sic]. No tengo ganas.” Then with a big sigh she pushes the door open and we’re in front of a group of screaming twelve year olds.
